Down With The Sickness RockBand Video Now On YouTube
Jan 17th
Back in June of last year, a couple of friends and I came out with a RockBand video of Disturbed’s Down With The Sickness. At the time I was unable to add the video to YouTube because of the song being copywrited.
While I was moving files around on the site, I found the video and in a fit of nostalgia decided to look at it again. I found the post on Folaji.com, and noticed the video wasn’t showing up. So I took advantage of this opportunity to try my luck with YouTube again, and I got the video to work!
So, check it out (if you hadn’t already) and enjoy!
J.J. Abrams’ Mystery Box
Jan 2nd
“Mystery is the catalyst for imagination.”
- J.J. Abrams
I stumbled upon a pretty interesting YouTube video a few days ago. The video (which I’ve embedded below) is of J.J. Abrams talking to a group of people at TED about what makes a good story. In the end, it all boils down to this small decades-old cardboard box which he never opened. This Mystery Box, J.J. explains, is the manifestation of infinite possibility, hope and potential, and is a very important and all-to-often forgotten element of good story telling.
Hello From Winnipeg!
Jun 19th
Hello everyone from Winnipeg!
The bike trip is going great, we are currently on our 6th day overall, and our second day in Manitoba’s capital. Since we’re staying here for two days, we decided last night that we would sleep in this morning. Being more of an early bird than my two other traveling buddies, I’m taking advantage of the situation to write a post
.
So, if you havn’t already, I’d invite you to read Vikas’ Journal Entries, which you can find using the links below:
Also, before I left I uploaded to youtube a video we did when we were in high school. The 45 minute movie, entitled “La Science et vous – La Sécurité en laboratoire”, was our attempt at creating a 70s-style, satirical movie about laboratory security while in high school. The video is in french, and is chopped up into 5 parts (since youtube doesn’t allow for videos longer than 10 minutes). You can find each of the vids below:
No DND this Weekend
Feb 14th
Alisttair (aka not Archer) will be out of town this weekend, so we will have to push our DnD session to next week (see forum post here)
In the meantime, enjoy…
There is no /rape in World of Warcraft
Jan 19th
Seeing as how everyone in our DnD group has now seen the “Tom et ses chums” videos, I think its only fair to post them on the site.
Tom et ses chums – Part 1
Tom et ses chums – Part 2
In retrospect, the video pretty much demonstrates the advantage tabletop RPG games have over computer based RPG games: storyline flexibility. As Grob told me earlier tonight, you can’t rape someone in games like World of Warcraft, Fallout 3 and Oblivion, yet in Dungeons & Dragons, anything is possible!
