Hey everybody!
Just wanted to post a quick update as to what’s going on as I know the site has been static for the past little while.
First, I’m proud to say that the long awaited final part of “Halloween in Montreal” will be published this Friday. The final chapter of this short story has been a tough write, what with all the answered questions and closure and what not. That being said, its finally ready to be published, so keep an eye out for it.
Second, it looks like we’ll be treated to another DnD inspired short story from Alisttair. As he noted on the latest RAWR post, Alisttair will be writing Ezmereth’s Story for publication on Folaji.com, a short story that will take a look at the character’s past in the world of RAWR. I unfortunately don’t know much about Ezmereth, so all I can say right now is that I can’t wait to learn more about him… or her… or it…?
As a side note, Alisttair is also the author of War of the Soulhers: Dugar’s Story, a five part adventure that follows another one of his DnD alter egos in a ramp up to the War of the Soulhers DnD Adventure. If you havn’t had the chance to read it yet, I encourage you to do so.
And finally, I’ve been kept busy on my end by some secret stuff. What kind of secret stuff you ask? Well, the kind of secret stuff that I can’t talk about, yet… Although what I can say is that some of the secret stuff involves a new series on Folaji.com.
Alright, that’s all for now, see you guys on Friday.
I’ve been preparing new content that I will be adding to Folaji.com over the next few months, so keep an eye out for the following:
Writter Blog
Since moving to Montreal, I’ve been thinking about the how we ended the Soulher’s DnD adventure. For those of you who were there, it was quite abrupt (everyone was killed by a giant sea monster) and left many questions unanswered. This bugged me, as I don’t like stories that end with loose ends, so I began thinking of a way to bring closure to the story. My favorite solution to this problem (and the one I’ve begun working on) is the novelization of the Soulhers adventure, something that I would like to see completed by the end of 2010. While I work on this personal project, I will be blogging my experiences on Folaji.com so you can keep track of my progress, as well as read about the difficulties I encounter while writting a novel.
Flash Imagination
Flash Imagination is an experimental feature I will be adding to Folaji.com. The idea is to publish a random image every week or so, and to invite readers to write a short five or six sentence story inspired by the picture. Not only will this allow us to exercise our imaginations, but it will also be very interesting to see how many different stories we can come up with for the same picture.
Expect both of these new features to show up on the site over the next few weeks. For the Flash Imagination feature, I will try to take some pics from Denver, as I’m flying there tomorrow. If my sources are correct, I should be able to take some very nice pictures while I’m up there.
Phoenix dropped by Montreal over the weekend for a friend’s wedding and single handedly convinced me to purchase a new power supply for my laptop online (my previous one went kaput about two months ago). Well, I placed the order yesterday and, lo and behold, had a new power supply in my mailbox when I came back home from work today!
If you didn’t know, my laptop is my refuge, where I plan and write most of my stuff (I can’t type on my desktop cause it has too many games, and I get quickly distracted…) So with it back up and running, expect some Rise of the X-Syndicate posts in the near future (and maybe some Soulhers stuff too…!)
Well, its official: after over a year of fun and games, the Soulhers adventure comes to a close as I’m moving to Montréal.
I just want to say how fun it was to play with you guys and how I’ll miss our weekly adventures. I also regret that I won’t be able to participate in Fyrewind’s upcoming “RAWR” adventure, though as I said earlier tonight, I don’t mind guest-starring a few times. I’ll keep the website up as a tool for you all to use with the upcoming adventure, as well as a place for me to continue posting stories (new stories are always welcome, of course
).
Also, with the adventure now over, I will start writting stories set in the Soulhers universe, seeing as there is still much more to be said and done. Who knows, maybe Herman and the Masters of the Universe may pop by once in a while.
After all, as we learned with Omar, Ivel and Barash: in the world of the Soulhers, no one ever really dies…
This weekend will be a long weekend, and as is typically the case on long weekends, some of you may be out of town.
Could you confirm, either by phone, email, pm, or by commenting on this post, whether you will be available for DnD this weekend? Also, if you can make it, what time would be best? (Saturday? Sunday? Monday?)
Let me know!
