Hey everybody!
Just wanted to post a quick update as to what’s going on as I know the site has been static for the past little while.
First, I’m proud to say that the long awaited final part of “Halloween in Montreal” will be published this Friday. The final chapter of this short story has been a tough write, what with all the answered questions and closure and what not. That being said, its finally ready to be published, so keep an eye out for it.
Second, it looks like we’ll be treated to another DnD inspired short story from Alisttair. As he noted on the latest RAWR post, Alisttair will be writing Ezmereth’s Story for publication on Folaji.com, a short story that will take a look at the character’s past in the world of RAWR. I unfortunately don’t know much about Ezmereth, so all I can say right now is that I can’t wait to learn more about him… or her… or it…?
As a side note, Alisttair is also the author of War of the Soulhers: Dugar’s Story, a five part adventure that follows another one of his DnD alter egos in a ramp up to the War of the Soulhers DnD Adventure. If you havn’t had the chance to read it yet, I encourage you to do so.
And finally, I’ve been kept busy on my end by some secret stuff. What kind of secret stuff you ask? Well, the kind of secret stuff that I can’t talk about, yet… Although what I can say is that some of the secret stuff involves a new series on Folaji.com.
Alright, that’s all for now, see you guys on Friday.
One of the perks of being a webmaster is you get to see statistics about who has been visiting your site. Now, last week I mentionned that someone had queried google for the phrase “breasts the size of watermelons“, and ended up reading Part 2 of Dugar’s Story.
Just for fun, I’ve decided to see what other strange search strings have caused visitors to appear on the site over the past few months, and here is a list of some of the most interesting ones:
Then, to my great surprise, there are the following search strings that reference hair:
- finger waves for black hair
- hair parlor
- the book of job ” … one hair on his head
I’m not sure what page visitors were forwarded to after searching these terms, although hair is obviously a more important part of this website than I thought…
And also as promised, the last part of Dugar’s back story is here! This one is big (over 2000 words) so be sure to sit down before attempting to read it.
In this part of the story, we follow the group of dwarves as they get lost in Hamlet Forest and meet up with a group of soldiers from the Kingdom of Tarra. Yet all is not as it seems…
This time, big thanks go to Alisttair (aka Pierre Labrie) who took the time to write this adventure and allowed me to publish it on the site.
You can read Part 5 of Dugar’s Story here.
I’ve finally posted the long awaited Chapter 5 of the Rise of the X-Syndicate adventure. This chapter is so big, I’ve had to split it into three parts so go ahead and read up on Chapter 5 - The Front Line (Part 1)!
As for the website upgrade and Herman and Dugar posts: I’m sorry. I’ve learned a very important lesson and that is to never promise that you’ll upgrade a website engine during holiday vacation since you never know what’ll happen (like catching a cold, buying an electric guitar, watching a couple of movies like the Simpsons Movie and a remake of Halloween
).
So the WordPress 2.7 installation is pushed back, and will hopefully happen sometime in January 09. As for the Dugar and Herman posts, they will be online this week. Both Fyrewind and Alisttair had provided their final parts a while back, so its just a matter of me posting them on the site.
Anywho, there’ll be some DnD adventuring tonight for sure, so for everyone in the adventuring party, see you around 7pm.
Oh, and Happy 2009 to everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posts over the past few weeks, I’ve been quite busy this being the holidays and all.
That being said, there will be no DnD tonight (we will start again next week). Also, keep a look out for the final chapters for both Herman’s Story and Dugar’s Story. Both will be published sometime in the following week!
